Going back in time with the date picker

Going back in time with the date picker

Overview

The Date Picker in XMAP looks like this:

You can click the left and right arrows to go back month-by-month. But what if you want to select a date from decades ago, that's a lot of clicking! And you can't type the date in manually (because we're quite particular about the formatting of dates).

Resolution

Fortunately there's a quick and easy way to select the date you want whether it's in 1000 AD or 2122. (it has a 100 year rolling range)

Click the text that shows the current month and year and it'll switch to a Year view where you can click any month in the currently-selected year.

Click the year and it'll switch to a Year scroll selector

And from here you can quickly scroll through to the year you want.

Clicking the year takes you back to the month selector

And you've guessed it, clicking the month takes you back to the day selector.

So in 5 clicks you can get to the year you want.
